Closing the Loop on Cannabis Packaging

The Problem & How We’re Solving It

Cannabis products rely entirely on single-use packaging driven by compliance requirements and fragmented recovery systems. As the industry grows, so does the volume of packaging waste generated at scale.

EcoKind Materials is building reusable packaging systems centered around durable containers, retail return integration, and scalable recovery infrastructure.

Our goal is to help operators reduce packaging waste while creating a more sustainable and efficient retail ecosystem.

Why We Started

EcoKind Materials was founded from a simple idea: cannabis packaging shouldn’t be designed for a single use.

As the industry continues to grow, so does the volume of packaging waste generated every day. We believe reusable systems offer a more sustainable long-term approach when built around compliance, operational efficiency, and seamless customer participation.

Our Vision

We believe the future of cannabis packaging will move toward reusable, recovery-focused systems designed for long-term circulation rather than single use.

EcoKind Materials is focused on helping build that future through scalable infrastructure, thoughtful design, and industry collaboration.

Meet The Founder

Emerson Moss — Founder, EcoKind Materials

The concept behind EcoKind Materials began after seeing a drawer fill with empty cannabis jars from everyday personal use.

After saving and reusing jars for things like storage and small household items, I started realizing how quickly the waste adds up and how little of it actually gets reused long-term.

This sparked the idea for a more practical and sustainable cannabis packaging system built around reuse instead of disposal.

As a 20-year-old Sacramento local balancing work, school, and building this company from the ground up, my goal is to help push the cannabis industry toward smarter long-term solutions that make sense for both businesses and consumers.
